Meek Mill Fighting for Reform Wearing Thorn Necklace

JAY-Z, Meek Mill, Robert Kraft & More Meet With REFORM

Founding members of the alliance first came together on January 31 to announce their assembly and collective $50 million pledge to the organization’s success, according to TMZ.
The Alliance focuses on trying to “dramatically reduce the number of people who are unjustly under the control of the criminal justice system – starting with probation and parole.” REFORM vows, “we won’t stop until we’ve changed the laws, policies, and practices that perpetuate the horrific injustice we are seeing in America.”

Other members of REFORM also include Philadelphia 76ers co-owner, Michael Rubin, Nets co-owner Clara Wu Tsai, and the organization’s CEO, CNN Host Van Jones.
Meek Mill’s initial arrest in 2017 sparked the movement after the Championships rapper spent five months in prison being released in part to the #FreeMeekMill hashtag that drew criticism on the excessive nature of the original sentence of a decade of probation.
JAY-Z would chime in after his peer’s release writing an op-ed for The New York Times titled, “The Criminal Justice System Stalks Black People Like Meek Mill.”

Meek Mill Dream Chasers Thorn Necklace by Eli Niv

Meek Mill reps his "Dreamchasers" series with his brand new chain from Eli Niv

by Alex Zidel

You're not really back until you make an extravagant purchase, which is exactly how Meek Mill celebrated his freedom today. While he stated that he did not yet feel free following his release from prison, Meek is grateful for every day that he does not spend behind bars. With his travel restrictions lifted for work purposes, the rapper will likely be performing around the country as he gets comfortable in his daily life. Making sure to keep cool wherever he travels, Meek showed off a brand new chain ( Thorn Necklace ) earlier on his Instagram story, in tribute to his Dreamchasers series.

From the first installment to DC4, Meek's Dreamchasers tapes and albums served as many people's introduction to the rapper, showing off his skills and spitting arguably his best bars throughout. As he always does, he is celebrating his acclaimed projects by way of his brand new chain, showing off the ice on Instagram. Meek wrote, "Thorns on me since they wanna crucify me," referring to the spikes on the rose gold neckpiece. Trying the necklace on for size, the "Litty" rapper simply wrote, "I'm back." As the camera moves around, it's fairly clear that the piece must have cost a pretty penny as it sparkles with every camera movement.

While his legal fees must be costing him a fortune, there is no doubt that Meek has some money left aside to play around. What do you think of his new chain?

Quotes About Being Strong & The Strength Of The Human Will

THORN was inspired spiritually from all the pains and challenges life's journey has to offer.  These challenges and struggles in life are opportunities to learn.  I know it is very difficult at times but it is always important to remember that you always have options.  Having perspective is very important in life.  Below is something I thought you would enjoy some quotes and thoughts about being strong and the strength of the human will.  Please enjoy and always remember - Never Give Up!
The weak fall, but the strong will remain and never go under!— Anne Frank, The Diary of a Young Girl
Keepinspiringme
There will be times in your life where you’re challenged, where nothing seems to be going
right, where tragedy strikes and you’re left to pick up the pieces.
In some cases, being strong is simply about being able to persevere through extreme adversity. It can be something horrific like the tragic loss of a loved one, or something difficult and trying like getting laid off. It can also be emotional trauma, like recovering from a divorce or a tough break up.
These experiences leave us feeling weak and hopeless. But that’s no reason to stay down for long. No matter what you’re going through in life, other people just like you have gone through the same or worse and come out stronger on the other side. It’s times like these you need to be strong and never give up.

Here are some quotes about being strong to help you find your own strength in the face of adversity:

“Sometimes you don’t realize your own strength until you come face to face with your greatest weakness.”
– Susan Gale
“Strength does not come from winning. Your struggles develop your strengths. When you go through hardships and decide not to surrender, that is strength.”– Arnold Schwarzenegger
“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”– Winston Churchill
“True strength is keeping everything together when everyone expects you to fall apart.”– Unknown
“Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength.”– Unknown
“The most beautiful people I’ve known are those who have known trials, have known struggles, have known loss, and have found their way out of the depths.”– Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
“You never know how strong you are… until being strong is the only choice you have.”― Cayla Mills
“Fall down seven times, get up eight.”– Japanese Proverb
“Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’!”– Audrey Hepburn
“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.”– James Dean
“Anyone can hide. Facing up to things, working through them, that’s what makes you strong.”– Sarah Dessen
“Courage is looking fear right in the eye and saying, ‘Get the hell out of my way, I’ve got things to do.'”– Unknown
“Life will break you. Nobody can protect you from that, and living alone won’t either, for solitude will also break you with its yearning. You have to love. You have to feel. It is the reason you are here on earth. You are here to risk your heart. You are here to be swallowed up. And when it happens that you are broken, or betrayed, or left, or hurt, or death brushes near, let yourself sit by an apple tree and listen to the apples falling all around you in heaps, wasting their sweetness. Tell yourself you tasted as many as you could.”– Louise Erdrich
“The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.”– Ernest Hemingway
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”– Mahatma Gandhi
“If you always put limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.”– Bruce Lee
“Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle. And so we must straighten our backs and work for our freedom. A man can’t ride you unless your back is bent.”– Martin Luther King, Jr.
“Nobody can hurt me without my permission.”– Mahatma Gandhi
“A heart is a muscle..and what do muscles do when they are torn? They grow back STRONGER!”– Unknown

An interview with Pope Francis about life struggles and making mistakes in life.

Some words to think about from a New York Times interview with Pope Francis about life struggles and making mistakes in life.

If encountering God is a journey, then we can make mistakes?

If one has the answers to all the questions — that is the proof that God is not with him. It means that he is a false prophet using religion for himself. The great leaders of the people of God, like Moses, have always left room for doubt. You must leave room for the Lord, not for our certainties; we must be humble.
… Our life is not given to us like an opera libretto, in which all is written down; but it means going, walking, doing, searching, seeing. … We must enter into the adventure of the quest for meeting God; we must let God search and encounter us.
… If the Christian is a restorationist, a legalist, if he wants everything clear and safe, then he will find nothing. Tradition and memory of the past must help us to have the courage to open up new areas to God. Those who today always look for disciplinarian solutions, those who long for an exaggerated doctrinal “security,” those who stubbornly try to recover a past that no longer exists — they have a static and inward-directed view of things. In this way, faith becomes an ideology among other ideologies. I have a dogmatic certainty: God is in every person’s life. God is in everyone’s life. Even if the life of a person has been a disaster, even if it is destroyed by vices, drugs or anything else — God is in this person’s life. You can, you must try to seek God in every human life. Although the life of a person is a land full of thorns and weeds, there is always a space in which the good seed can grow. You have to trust God.

Thorn Raises More than just Glasses at Launch Event - Jewelry Line Brings in Thousands for Charity

Thorn Raises More than just Glasses at Launch Event
Jewelry Line Brings in Thousands for Charity

Niv & Chris Paul
Philadelphia, PA – Last Thursday evening, March 26, Eldad Eli Niv (“Niv”) launched his new jewelry line, Thorn, to great aplomb at the iconic repurposed church of the Fleisher Art Memorial.  Ensuring attendees would have an opportunity to purchase the beautifully designed rings, bracelets and necklaces, Niv also ensured the night would be about more than just a great time in a fantastic venue, donating 15% of all proceeds to two charities: The Chris Paul Foundation and the Philadelphia School Partnership.

Always deeply philanthropic, Niv isn’t content to stop there.  He is now pledging that 10% of sales from Thorn’s website from now, March 31st, until April 26th will go to the Philadelphia School Partnership.  Having worked with NBA All-Star Chris Paul—who was in attendance Thursday night—and his charity for years, Niv decided to add the Philadelphia School Partnership to his benevolent plate.  “I have kids,” said Niv, “[and] I think Philly has a lot of problems in the school system and it’s kind of sad to see schools closing down or cutting back. So we decided to do that [in addition to The Chris Paul Foundation].”  True to the ideology he brings into designing his wearable art, Niv’s contributions to both charities come from the heart. “People do things for different reasons,” he said.  “I think you can get the best out of yourself if you do it because you love it…I want to make inspiration with my jewelry. I think it’ll make people feel good.”

Fleisher Art Memorial

At his Jose Garces-catered launch party Thursday evening, there was no question that “good” was the pervasive feeling.  Attended by over 200 friends, clients, and supporters the event was an amalgamation of cocktails, style, and music set amongst a gothic backdrop.  It was the perfect environment to introduce Thorn; a line created to positively impact people and, in turn, is creating a positive impact in the community.

Patrons can purchase Thorn exclusively at Benari Jewelers and online at www.thornbyniv.com. All of Thorn’s designs are solely handmade in the USA and utilize all of the latest technology in computer-aided design.  Thorn has been copyrighted and trademarked.
